Privacy Policy

The short version

Your core data — streaks, settings, habits — is stored locally on your device. Social features like friends and challenges use secure cloud servers. We do not sell your data.

Location data

LockedOut uses your location to detect when you arrive at or leave places you've saved, like your gym, office, or library. This happens automatically in the background so you don't have to manually check in every time.

Your location is only processed on your device. It's never recorded, stored, or sent to any server. We don't keep a history of where you've been. The app simply checks whether you're inside one of your saved locations right now, and that's it.

Camera and photos

If you use the clean room feature, the app accesses your camera to take a photo of your room. That photo is sent to Anthropic's Claude for verification and is not stored after the check is complete. No photos are saved to any server or shared with anyone.

Data storage

Your saved locations, streak history, rules, and settings are stored locally on your device. If you use social features like friends and challenges, that data is stored on secure cloud servers. If you delete the app, your local data goes with it. You can request deletion of cloud data by contacting us.

Cloud data is processed via Supabase (hosted in the US/EU). Data is retained for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion within 30 days by contacting us.

Analytics and tracking

We don't use analytics tools, tracking pixels, or advertising SDKs. We don't know who you are, how often you open the app, or what you do inside it.

Third party services

LockedOut uses RevenueCat to manage subscriptions. RevenueCat processes your purchase through Apple and may receive anonymised transaction data. You can read their privacy policy at revenuecat.com/privacy.

The clean room feature uses Anthropic's Claude for image analysis. Photos are sent for processing and are not retained after verification. Anthropic's API has a zero-day data retention policy — your photos are not stored after analysis. You can read their privacy policy at anthropic.com/privacy.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. Most of your data is stored locally on your device and can be deleted by uninstalling the app. For cloud data related to social features, contact us to request deletion.

Children

LockedOut is not designed for children under 13. We don't knowingly collect any information from children.
